How It Works

This tool builds printable tracing worksheets entirely in your browser. nothing is uploaded to a server. Each practice line is drawn as an SVG so it stays crisp at any print size.

  1. Pick your content: the full alphabet (upper, lower, or both cases), the numbers 0–9, or type your own words and phrases.
  2. Choose a tracing style: dotted or dashed outlines are ideal for beginners to follow; a light gray fill lets children write directly over the shape.
  3. Set the size and guide lines: the classic four-line handwriting guide (top line, dashed midline, baseline, and descender line) helps kids place each letter correctly.
  4. Add a solid model: optionally begin every line with one solid letter so the child has a reference before tracing the dotted copies.
  5. Print: the controls and background are hidden automatically, leaving a clean black-and-white worksheet.
Understanding the guide lines
  • Top line: the height of capital letters and tall lowercase letters (b, d, h, k, l, t).
  • Dashed midline: the x-height. the top of most lowercase letters (a, c, e, m, n).
  • Baseline: the solid line every letter sits on.
  • Descender line: how far tails drop below the baseline (g, j, p, q, y).
Tip: use the Rounded or Cursive font and a larger size for younger children, and the Print font for early readers learning block letters.
